Here are some Ceremony Options
There are several options that I can include within your ceremony.
Below you will find a short description of a few of them.
Below you will find a short description of a few of them.
Unity Sand Ceremony
The Unity Sand Ceremony has become popular element. In years past it has been the Unity Candle Ceremony, but now there are many other options. We have used the rose ceremony several times. Most people think of the rose gift to the bride and grooms mother when we mention this. This rose ceremony is a little different in that it is between the bride and groom after the ring exchange. The Unity Sand Ceremony is popular for couples that are getting remarried, and bringing children from a previous marriage into their new family. Alot of times they would like to include the children in the ceremony, which we are in favor of. Some couples have young children, and the Unity Sand ceremony is a safe alternative. Not to mention that the vase becomes a keepsake item not only for the bride and groom, but the entire family. This is a good element to add to an outdoor wedding, because you don't have to worry about the wind. The Unity Candle can be difficult to work with outdoors, because there is always the chance of the candle being blown out by the wind.
Memorial Candle Ceremony
The Memorial Candle Ceremony is a wonderful way for the bride or groom to honor a loved one during their wedding ceremony. I have used this in the past, and it is a wonderful tribute symbolizing the presence and love of someone in heaven.
This ceremony can be included for family members in the military that are on active duty, and we can also include a prayer.
Unity Candle Ceremony
The unity candle lighting ceremony has been used as an element in most traditional weddings over the years, although there are some websites out there that say this is becoming a popular ceremony element again.. The ceremony symbolizes the uniting between the bride and groom as one and the merging of their families. This ceremony element usually occurs after the exchanging of rings and before the minister pronounces the couple to be husband and wife. The mothers of the couple usually light the smaller candles prior to the processional, then are escorted to their seats.
Irish Oath Stone
In Ireland there are many sacred stones around which spiritual devotions and ancient rituals took place. Tara was the meeting place of the ancient kings of Ireland. At this ancient site, there still stands a sacred stone that is said to mark the place where ancient kings were sworn in as leaders. Stones, being part of the earth, were thought to hold the memories of Irish ancestors. To make a binding oath on or near an ancient stone was to make a powerful and lasting vow, as if your vows were "carved in stone."
This stone is Connemara Marble. It is only found on Irish soil, and it was imported for their wedding.
There are several other options available to make your wedding unique. These are just a sample of some of the common elements used in today's weddings. There is a wine ceremony, a honey ceremony, a salt ceremony, broom jumping, breaking of the glass, and I have even seen a chocolate ceremony. So, you do have many options to chose from that will make your wedding a truly special day.
